Blood on Your Paws

Crimson padded across the flat expanse of land that was the Starry patch, the dew twinkled as the starlight caught it and danced in each droplet of water. Grass grazed the pads of her paws and crickets chirped a merry tune as they scattered from beneath her steps.

The serene atmosphere was enough to melt the heart of even the most pessimistic Sypher. Crimson smiled calmnly as she felt herself relax. She often came out here at night, especially since she had become Beta. She found it rather relaxing to be away from all the slow-wit Syphers she helped to manage.

Crimson shook these thoughts out of her head and stepped down on a rock, only to be greeted with a jolt of pain shooting up her leg.

Grimacing, Crimson watched as blood welled up from the wound. She limped around the area to find a cobweb or two to mend her cut.

Crimson's ears twitched towards the source of the cry. She sniffed the air and her lip curled as she recognized the scent carried on the wind...

"Eaglefang..." She growled beneath her breath

She turned and ran in the direction of the sound, wincing with every step she took. Pain rivetted through her leg as it hit the ground. The pain was crippling... Dirt and debris stung the wound causing it to swell and become painful.

I'm gonna hafta get a Shaw to look at that... Crimson thought bitterly.

It hurt as she stumbled and scraped her legs on another rock. She was focussing too hard on the pain, she knew she shouldn't have thought of it at all... With this, she pushed these thoughts out of her mind and ran.

Finally, she got there. A slight sweat dampened her rippling pelt. Crimson looked Eaglefang in the eye and glared, a growl rumbling deep in her throat...
